„Onirico“ means „dreamlike“ in Italian. It derives from the ancient Greek Oniro, which is the name of the god of dreams.
These images were shot on 35mm Revolog Kolor, a pre-exposed Kodak film which creates random colour shades, different on every frame.
Applied to natural elements such as cliffs, water and trees, the unnatural colours transfigure their subjects. They make the viewer lose the sense of scale, detach the objects from their normal context, transform them into dreamlike, mysterious figures.
To me, they express a sense of astonishment in front of the grandeur and timelessness of nature.
