I don’t know how long it lasts

Who suffered from depression can recognize the characteristic feeling it brings with, very different from a normal melancholy or sadness. It is more like a dark veil covering everything, a weight in your chest pressing you down, a malignant spirit permeating reality.
A friend who was going through mental sufferance, knowing that I experienced it myself, once asked me: “Yes, but how long does it last? Because I want to go back feeling good.” I replied that I don’t know how long it lasts, unfortunately.
Sometimes I recognize again that feeling. When I walk around the city with it, everything looks darker and weirder. I stand outside, looking in, feeling detached. And it appears like there is no way to get out of that, if not staying strong and waiting for it to go. This series is my attempt to give a visual representation of that state of mind.
